The XMAG is used to measure the magnetic field in the area of its installation. This in-production device is a solid-state sensor designed to fit within the normal location of a flux-gate sensor on an aircraft. It provides automatic ground and airborne calibration when used with an Athena unit. The XMAG receives power from the aircraft bus and contains RS?232, RS-422 and 0-5 VDC analog outputs. It also has three 0-5 VDC analog outputs, one for each axis and one common analog ground for these signals. The XMAG-100 has an analog report rate capability of 300 Hz or better and a digital report rate capability of up to 250 Hz at 115.2 k/bps.
Key Features & Benefits
*Automatic ground and airborne calibration when used with an Athena or Micro INS?
*Supports two electrical outputs--analog or digital serial outputs--perfect for replacing legacy magnetometers
*Developed to DO-178B and qualified to DO-160E
